Giver and Guardian of our sleep,To praise thy name we wake;Still, Lord, thy helpless servants keep,For thine own mercy's sake.

The blessings of another day,We thankfully receive;O may we only thee obey,And to thy glory live.

Uphold us with thy mighty hand;Our words and thoughts restrain;And bow our souls to thy command,Nor let our faith be vain.
