The Promise

Jesus my all to heaven is gone;Jesus says he will be with us to the end,He whom I fix my hopes upon.Jesus says he will be with us to the end,For he has been with us, and he still is with us,And he's promis'd to be with us to the end.

His track I see and I'll pursue,Jesus says he will be with us to the end,The narrow way till him I view.Jesus says he will be with us to the end,For he has been with us, and he still is with us,And he's promis'd to be with us to the end.

The way the holy prophets went,Jesus says he will be with us to the end,The road that leads from banishment.Jesus says he will be with us to the end,For he has been with us, and he still is with us,And he's promis'd to be with us to the end.

The king's highway of holiness,Jesus says he will be with us to the end,I'll go, for all his paths are peace.Jesus says he will be with us to the end,For he has been with us, and he still is with us,And he's promis'd to be with us to the end.

This is the way I long have sought,Jesus says he will be with us to the end,And mourned because I found it not.Jesus says he will be with us to the end,For he has been with us, and he still is with us,And he's promis'd to be with us to the end.

My grief a burden long has been,Jesus says he will be with us to the end,Because I was not saved from sin.Jesus says he will be with us to the end,For he has been with us, and he still is with us,And he's promis'd to be with us to the end.

The more I strove against its power,Jesus says he will be with us to the end,I felt its weight and guilt the more.Jesus says he will be with us to the end,For he has been with us, and he still is with us,And he's promis'd to be with us to the end.

Till late I heard my Savior say,Jesus says he will be with us to the end,'Come hither soul, I am the way.'Jesus says he will be with us to the end,For he has been with us, and he still is with us,And he's promis'd to be with us to the end.

Lo! glad I come, and thou, blest Lamb,Jesus says he will be with us to the end,Shall take me to thee, whose I am.Jesus says he will be with us to the end,For he has been with us, and he still is with us,And he's promis'd to be with us to the end.

Nothing but sin have I to give,Jesus says he will be with us to the end,Nothing but love shall I receive.Jesus says he will be with us to the end,For he has been with us, and he still is with us,And he's promis'd to be with us to the end.

Then will I tell to sinners round,Jesus says he will be with us to the end,What a dear Savior I have found.Jesus says he will be with us to the end,For he has been with us, and he still is with us,And he's promis'd to be with us to the end.

I'll point to thy redeeming blood,Jesus says he will be with us to the end,And say, 'Behold the way of God.'Jesus says he will be with us to the end,For he has been with us, and he still is with us,And he's promis'd to be with us to the end.
