Garland

Sing, ye redeemed of the Lord,

1

Millennial Harp (1843), Part II, printed p. 68 (PDF 144). Three staves (Treble, Second Treble — **the
melody** —, and Bass); C major, 2/2, three systems, 15 measures. The hymn fills the page: the four
stanzas are printed between the staves, spread over the three interlinear spaces (stanza 1 under the
top staff, stanza 2 under the middle staff, stanzas 3 and 4 under the bass). All voices sing the same
words. The hymnal prints no metre; the stanzas are 8.6.8.6 (C. M.), and the music repeats the second
half of the last line.

1

Sing, ye redeemed of the Lord,
Your great deliverer sing;
Pilgrims for Zion's city bound,
Be joyful in your King, be joyful in your King.

2

See the fair way his hand hath rais'd ;
How holy, and how plain!
Nor shall the simplest trav'lers err,
Nor ask the track in vain, nor ask the track in vain.

3

No rav'ning lion shall destroy,
No lurking serpent wound;
Pleasure and safety, peace and praise,
Thro' all the path are found, thro'all the path are found.

4

A hand divine shall lead you on,
Thro' all the blissful road,
'Till to the sacred mount you rise,
And see your smiling God, and see your smiling God.
