⤢ Full screenCome, ye who love the Lord,
And let your joys be known;
Join in a song of sweet accord;
And thus surround the throne.
Let those refuse to sing
Who never knew our God;
But children of the heavenly King
May speak their joys abroad.
The hill of Zion yields
A thousand sacred sweets
Before we reach the heavenly fields,
Or walk the golden streets.
Then let our songs abound,
And every tear be dry;
We 're marching through Immanuel's ground.
To fairer worlds on high.
About this hymn
As printed As printed: hymn number «30», tune name «WAUGH. S. M.» centred over the music, «RALPH HARRISON.» at the right (capitals and small capitals). Stanza 1 is interlinear, between the staves, one line per system, with «1.» before «Come,». Stanzas 2–4 are printed as text in the left column below the music, under the reference line «11, 266, 558.» (= may also be sung to the tunes of hymns 11, 266 or 558). «Isaac Watts.» in italics after stanza 4. The print sets a thin space before «;» («known ;», «God ;», «dry ;»); it is closed up here. «We 're» is printed with a space before the apostrophe and is kept so. In stanza 4 the long third verse runs over on to a second line in the print («… Immanuel's / ground.»); it is one verse here. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's; lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented in the print.
