⤢ Full screenLord, when my raptured thought surveys
Creation's beauties o'er,
All nature joins to teach thy praise
And bid my soul adore.
Where'er I turn my gazing eyes,
Thy radiant footsteps shine;
Ten thousand pleasing wonders rise,
And speak their source divine.
On me thy providence has shone
With gentle, smiling rays;
O let my lips and life make known
Thy goodness and thy praise!
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «73», reference line «669, 550, 201,» in italics (sing to the tune of hymn 669, 550 or 201) — the line ends with a comma, not the usual period; the three stanzas in the right column of p. 27 below hymn 72, «Anne Steele.» in italics at the end. The first word «LORD» is set in capitals and small capitals. The print sets a thin space before «;» and «!» («shine ;», «rays ;», «praise !»); it is closed up here. «Creation's», «o'er», «Where'er» with straight apostrophes. The first line of stanza 1 runs slightly past the column. Lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented in the print. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's. No meter is printed (the text is C. M., 8.6.8.6).
