⤢ Full screenSound, sound the truth abroad!
Bear ye the word of God
Through the wide world;
Tell what our Lord has done,
Tell how the day is won,
And from his lofty throne
Satan is hurled.
Ye who, forsaking all
At your loved Master's call,
Comforts resign;
Soon will your work be done,
Soon will the prize be won;
Brighter than yonder sun
Then shall ye shine.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «128», reference line «34, 155.» in italics (sing to the tune of hymn 34 or 155 — the 6s & 4s tunes AMERICA and NEW HAVEN; ITALY, hymn 127, is on the same page), two numbered stanzas at the foot of the left column of p. 47 below hymn 127, «Thomas Kelly.» in italics at the end. The first word «SOUND» is set in capitals and small capitals. The print sets a thin space before «!» and «;» («abroad !», «world ;», «resign ;», «won ;»); it is closed up here. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's; lines 3 and 7 of each stanza are indented (6s & 4s form, 6.6.4.6.6.6.4). No meter is printed.
