⤢ Full screenHow great the wisdom, power, and grace,Which in redemption shine! The heavenly host with joy confessThe work is all divine.
Before His feet they cast their crowns,—Those crowns which Jesus gave,—And with ten thousand thousand tongues,Proclaim his power to save.
They tell the triumphs of his cross,The suffering which he bore; How low he stooped, how high he rose,And rose to stoop no more.
With them let us our voices raise,And still the song renew;Salvation well deserves the praiseOf men and angels too.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «379» (large) with the reference line «399, 798, 201.» in italics beside it (sing to the tune of hymn 399, 798 or 201); the hymn stands in the lower half of the right column of p. 124, below hymn 378, and ends at the foot of that column with «Benjamin Beddome» in italics (no final period). The first word «How» is set in ordinary capital and lower case here (not in capitals and small capitals, as hymn 378's «WHEN»). The stanza numbers are printed without a full stop («1 How»). The print sets a thin space before «;» and «!» («shine !», «bore ;», «renew ;»); it is closed up here. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's («Before His feet» with a capital H, «his power», «his cross» in lower case; «crowns,—», «gave,—»). Lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented in the print. No meter is printed (the text is C. M., 8.6.8.6).
