⤢ Full screenCome hither, all ye weary souls;Ye heavy-laden sinners, come;I'll give you rest from all your toils,And raise you to my heavenly home.
They shall find rest who learn of me;I'm of a meek and lowly mind; But passion rages like the sea,And pride is restless as the wind.
Blest is the man whose shoulders takeMy yoke, and bear it with delight; My yoke is easy to his neck,My grace shall make the burden light.
Jesus, we come at thy command; With faith, and hope, and humble zeal,Resign our spirits to thy hand,To mold and guide us at thy will.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «392» (large) with the reference line «58, 101, 431.» in italics beside it (sing to the tune of hymn 58, 101 or 431); the hymn stands in the lower half of the left column of p. 128, below hymn 391 («Philip Doddridge.»), and ends at the foot of that column with «Isaac Watts.» in italics. The first word «COME» is set in capitals and small capitals. The stanza numbers are printed without a full stop («1 COME»), numbered «1.» here. The print sets a thin space before «;» («souls ;», «come ;», «me ;», «mind ;», «delight ;», «command ;»); it is closed up here. The printer's curly apostrophes are written straight («I'll», «I'm»). Lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented in the print. Spelling («mold»), punctuation and capitals are the print's. No meter is printed (the text is L. M., 8.8.8.8, like the three tunes of the reference line).
