About this hymn

As printed As printed: running head «THE SINNER—WARNING AND INVITATION.»; hymn number «412» (large), tune name «COME, YE SINNERS.» centred over the music (condensed capitals and small capitals), meter «8s & 7s. D.», «UNKNOWN.» at the right (capitals and small capitals). The music has two systems. System 1 (closed by a repeat sign and «Fine.») carries two lyric lines between the staves, enclosed in braces with «1.» before them — the first sung the first time, the second on the repeat — and, under the bass staff, in italics, the line headed «D. C.—» that is sung to system 1 after the D. C.; system 2 (closed by «D. C.») carries the refrain «He is able, He is able, He is willing, doubt no more.». «wounded,» is printed as one word under its notes. Stanzas 2–3 are printed as text in the left column below the music, under the reference line «854, 860, 295.» in italics (= the words may also be sung to the tunes of hymns 854, 860 or 295), six lines each (the fifth short: «Without money», «This he gives you;»), followed by «Joseph Hart.» in italics. The refrain and the D. C. line are printed once, with stanza 1 only. The print sets a thin space before «;» and «!» («needy ;», «welcome ;», «glorify !», «dream ;», «him ;», «you ;»); it is closed up here. «'T is» (apostrophe, T, space, «is») as printed, the apostrophe written straight. Lines 2, 4 and 6 of each stanza are indented in the print, line 5 further. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's.
