There is no name so sweet on earth,No name so sweet in heaven,The name before his wondrous birthTo Christ, the Saviour, given.

Chorus.

We love to sing around our King,And hail him blessed Jesus; For there's no word ear ever heard,So dear, so sweet as "Jesus."

2

He's now upon his Father's throne,Almighty to release usFrom sin and pain, he gladly reigns,The Prince and Saviour, Jesus.

About this hymn

As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «497» (large) with nothing else on its line — no tune reference, no meter; it begins at the foot of the left column of p. 161, under hymn 496 SHINING SHORE. Stanza 1 is numbered «1», its first word «THERE» set in capitals and small capitals (written «There» here); then the label «CHORUS.» (capitals and small capitals) and the four chorus lines, indented one step further than the stanza; stanza 2 («2 He's now upon his Father's throne,») continues at the top of the right column, followed by «E. Roberts.» in bold italics. The chorus is printed once, after stanza 1. Stanza numbers are printed without a full stop («1 THERE», «2 He's»; numbered «1.» and «2.» here). Lines 2 and 4 of each stanza and of the chorus are indented as printed. The print sets a thin space before «;» («Jesus ;») and inside the opening quotation mark («" Jesus."»); both are closed up here and the curly quotation marks and apostrophes are written straight. Spelling («Saviour»), punctuation and capitals are the print's.
