⤢ Full screenAway with our sorrow and fear!We soon shall recover our home; The city of saints shall appear,The day of eternity come. From earth we shall quickly remove,And mount to our promised abode,—The house of our Father above,The palace of angels and God.
By faith we already beholdThat lovely Jerusalem here; Her walls are of jasper and gold,As crystal her buildings are clear.Immovably founded in grace,She stands as she ever has stood; And soon, at the end of our race,We'll rest in that city of God.
About this hymn

As printed: running head «WAITING FOR CHRIST—CLOSING WORK.»; hymn number «841» (large) at the head of the right column of p. 277, under the music of hymn 840 CONTRAST, with NO reference line (no tune numbers are printed for this hymn; the text has the meter of CONTRAST, 8s. D., printed directly above it); it ends at the foot of the column with «Charles Wesley.» in italics. Two stanzas numbered «1», «2» without a full stop (numbered «1.», «2.» here). The first word «AWAY» is set in capitals and small capitals; written «Away». Lines 2, 4, 6, 8 of each stanza are indented in the print. The print sets a thin space before «!» and «;» («fear !», «home ;», «here ;», «stood ;»); it is closed up here. The apostrophe of «We'll» is written straight. Spelling («Immovably»), punctuation and capitals are the print's («abode,—»).
