There is a land mine eye hath seen

1

There is a land mine eye hath seenIn visions of enraptured thought,So bright, that all which spreads betweenIs with its radiant glories fraught,—

2

A land upon whose blissful shoreThere rests no shadow, falls no stain;There those who meet shall part no more,And those long parted meet again.

3

Its skies are not like earthly skies,With varying hues of shade and light;It hath no need of suns to riseTo dissipate the gloom of night;

4

There sweeps no desolating windAcross that calm, serene abode;The wanderer there a home may findWithin the paradise of God.

About this hymn

As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «978» (large) in the left column of p. 331, below hymn 977, with the reference line «316, 301, 336.» in bold italic figures beside it (sing to the tunes of hymns 316 OLDEN, 301 ROCKINGHAM or 336 BROCKHAM, all L. M.; no meter is printed — the lines 8.8.8.8 are L. M.; the PDF text layer reads «816, 801, 836», but the figures are italic 3s — see uncertainties.md). Stanzas numbered «1»–«4» without periods (written «1.»–«4.» here, as in the other deliveries of this book); lines 2 and 4 indented. The first word «THERE» is set in a capital and small capitals; written «There». Worn type in stanza 2, line 4: «meet» (the second «e» and the «t» broken) and «again» (the «a» broken) — legible. «Gurdon Robins.» in italics, right-aligned, after stanza 4. The print sets a thin space before «;» («stain ;», «light ;», «night ;», «abode ;»); it is closed up here. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's.
