⤢ Full screenRedeemed! how I love to proclaim it!Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;Redeemed thro' his infinite mercy,His child, and forever, I am.
Redeemed, redeemed,Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;Redeemed, redeemed,His child, and forever, I am.
Redeemed! and so happy in Jesus! No language my rapture can tell;I know that the light of his presenceWith me doth continually dwell.
I think of my blessed Redeemer,I think of him all the day long;I sing; for I cannot be silent; His love is the theme of my song.
I know I shall see in his beautyThe King in whose law I delight,Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps,And giveth me songs in the night.
I know there's a crown that is waitingIn yonder bright mansion for me;And soon, with the spirits made perfect,At home with the Lord I shall be.
About this hymn
As printed As printed: hymn number «1203» (large, left), title «REDEEMED.» centred (condensed capitals and small capitals, «Redeemed.»); under it, centred, the epigraph «"Thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul: thou hast redeemed my life."—Lam. 3 : 58.» (old-style figures); on the next line «FANNY J. CROSBY.» at the left (words) and «WM. J. KIRKPATRICK.» at the right (music), both in capitals and small capitals. No meter, no tune name other than the title, no reference line (the text is 9.8.9.8 with a refrain). All five stanzas are interlinear, numbered «1.»–«5.» (the «3.» prints like an «8.» in this exemplar), between the staves of systems 1–2; «REFRAIN.» (bold capitals) stands over system 3, and the refrain words are printed once, under systems 3–4; the refrain is sung after every stanza. In the refrain the main line reads «Re - deemed, . re - deemed, . Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;» / «Re - deemed, . re - deemed, . His child, and for - ev - er, I am.»: the «.» after each «deemed,» stands under the held (tied or slurred) second note and is not a word. Under it, in a small condensed type, the tenor and bass echo «Redeemed, redeemed,» (systems 3 and 4) on their extra notes while soprano and alto hold — given below after the refrain. Under the music, centred: «From "Songs of Redeeming Love," by per.» Each printed line of words carries two verse lines; they are given here one verse line per line. Words printed whole under two notes («Redeemed!» of stanzas 1–2, «blessed», «language», «mansion», «presence», «guardeth», «footsteps», «perfect») are recorded as printed in `lyrics_syllables.txt`. The print sets a thin space before «;», «!» and «:» («it !», «Lamb ;», «soul :»); it is closed up here; curly quotes and apostrophes are written straight. Spelling and punctuation are the print's («thro'», «guardeth», «giveth», «continually»).
