About this hymn
As printed As printed on p. 619 (PDF 620), under hymn 1410: hymn number «1411» (large, left), title «THE LORD'S PRAYER.» centred (condensed capitals and small capitals), «D. S. HAKES.» at the right (capitals and small capitals); footer «By permission.» centred under the music, above the folio «619». Beside «D. S. HAKES.» this copy has a handwritten ink note («early composer»?) — not part of the print, left out (see uncertainties.md). No author or source of the words, no meter, no remission line. The words are prose set to a chant: three unnumbered lines of words under the treble of each system; the text of the prayer runs line 1 of system 1, line 1 of system 2, line 2 of system 1, line 2 of system 2, line 3 of system 1, line 3 of system 2. Each pair of lines is given here as one sentence of the prayer. Syllables divided under the notes are joined («dai - ly», «de- / liver», «for - ever», «A - men»); the print sets «kingdom, and» with no space after the comma (spaced here). Spelling («who art», «trespasses»), capitals and punctuation are the print's; the thin spaces before «;» are closed up.
