⤢ Full screenWhen marshall'd on the nightly plain,
The glittering hosts bestud the sky,
One star alone, of all the train,
Can fix the sinner's wandering eye:
Hark! hark! to God the chorus breaks,
From ev'ry host, from ev'ry gem;
But one alone, the Savior speaks,
It is the star of Bethlehem.
Notes: "marshall'd", "ev'ry", "Savior" as printed. Line breaks follow the verse (8 lines of L. M.); no meter is printed on the page. The printed ending labels are "1st time." and "2d time."; "D. C." is printed at the final bar.
