⤢ Full screenHow charming is the place
Where my Redeemer, God,
Unvails the beauty of his face,
And sheds his love abroad!
Not earth's fair palaces,
To which the great resort,
Are once to be compared with this,
Where Jesus holds his court.
Give me, O Lord, a place
Within thy blest abode,
Among the children of thy grace,
The servants of my God.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «14» in the right column of p. 10, reference line «191, 236, 266.» (sing to the tune of hymn 191, 236 or 266), three numbered stanzas, «Samuel Stennett» in italics at the end — printed without a final period, unlike the other author lines on the page. The first word «HOW» is set in small capitals. «Unvails» is the print's spelling. The thin space the print sets before «!» («abroad !») is closed up here. Punctuation and capitals are the print's; lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented in the print. No meter is printed (the text is S. M., 6.6.8.6).
