⤢ Full screenGlory, honor, praise, and power
Unto God this very hour,
For the work of grace begun
Through his well-beloved Son.
While our prayers and praises rise,
Lord, as incense to the skies,
May thy Spirit's quickening fire,
Every heart and tongue inspire.
Praises for thy love to man,
For redemption's wondrous plan,
For the life that thou didst give,
Lord, that we, thy foes, might live!
Daily gifts of love untold
From thy bounteous hand unfold;
Thine 's a never-failing store,—
O for hearts to praise thee more!
About this hymn
As printed As printed: running head «WORSHIP—PRAISE AND REVERENCE OF GOD.»; hymn number «37» (large, left), tune name «ROOT. 7s.» centred over the music, «F. E. BELDEN.» at the right (capitals and small capitals); in the left margin, printed vertically, «by F. E. Belden.» beside system 1 and «Copyrighted 1886» beside system 2. Stanza 1 is set between the staves, one text line per system, with «1.» before «Glo-»; «well - be - lov - ed» is printed in syllables only, so the compound is written «well-beloved» here (see `uncertainties.md`). Stanzas 2–4 are printed as text in the left column below the music, under the italic reference line «15, 240, 272.» (= the words may also be sung to the tunes of hymns 15, 240 or 272); «F. E. Belden.» in italics after stanza 4. The stanza numbers of the text stanzas are printed without a full stop («2 While»); they are numbered «2.» here like stanza 1. The lines of every stanza are set flush (no indentation). The printer's hair space before «;» and «!» («unfold ;», «live !», «more !») is closed up here. «Thine 's» is set with a space before the apostrophe and is kept so.
