⤢ Full screenHoly Bible! book divine!
Precious treasure, thou art mine!
Mine to tell me whence I came;
Mine to teach me what I am;
Mine to chide me when I rove;
Mine to show a Saviour's love;
Mine art thou to guide my feet;
Mine to judge, condemn, acquit;
Mine to comfort in distress,
If the Holy Spirit bless;
Mine to show by living faith,
Man can triumph over death;
Mine to tell of joys to come,
And the rebel sinner's doom;
O thou holy book divine!
Precious treasure, thou art mine!
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «192» (large) at the foot of the left column of p. 66, below hymn 191, then in italics and brackets «[Tune, Pleyel, No. 240.]» (sing to the tune PLEYEL, hymn 240), then «7s.» in bold at the right. Four numbered stanzas, «John Burton.» in italics at the end. The first word «HOLY» is set in capitals and small capitals. The print sets a thin space before «!» and «;» («Bible !», «divine !», «mine !», «came ;», «am ;», «rove ;», «love ;», «feet ;», «acquit ;», «bless ;», «death ;», «doom ;»); it is closed up here. The lines of each stanza are set flush (not indented). Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's.
