⤢ Full screenBlest are the undefiled in heart,
Whose ways are right and clean;
Who never from thy law depart,
But fly from every sin.
Blest are the men who keep thy word,
And practice thy commands;
With their whole heart they seek thee, Lord,
And serve thee with their hands.
Great is their peace who love thy law;
How firm their souls abide!
Nor can a bold temptation draw
Their steadfast feet aside.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «205» (large) with the reference line «201, 117, 187.» in italics beside it (sing to the tune of hymn 201, 117 or 187); the hymn stands in the lower half of the left column of p. 70, below the stanzas of hymn 204, stanzas 1–3, «Anon.» in italics at the end. The first word «BLEST» is set in capitals and small capitals. The print sets a thin space before «;» and «!» («clean ;», «commands ;», «law ;», «abide !»); it is closed up here. In stanza 2 line 3 the long line is set tight, «thee,Lord,» without a space after the comma; the space is restored here. Lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented in the print. Spelling («practice»), punctuation and capitals are the print's. No meter is printed (the text is C. M., 8.6.8.6).
