⤢ Full screenDismiss us with thy blessing, Lord,
Help us to feed upon thy word;
All that has been amiss forgive,
And let thy truth within us live.
Though we are guilty, thou art good;
Cleanse us from sin through Jesus' blood;
Give every fettered soul release,
And bid us all depart in peace.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «257» (large) with the reference line «223, 171.» in bold italic figures beside it (sing to the tune of hymn 223 or 171); the hymn opens the left text column of p. 86, directly below the music of hymn 256 (OLD HUNDRED), and ends there with «Joseph Hart.» in italics (swash J). The first word «DISMISS» is set in capitals and small capitals. The print sets a thin space before «;» («word ;», «good ;», «blood ;»); it is closed up here. A raised dot printed after «forgive,» (stanza 1 line 3) is a stray mark, not punctuation, and is not transcribed. The printer's curly apostrophe is written straight («Jesus'»). All four lines of each stanza are set flush. No meter is printed (the text is L. M.). Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's.
