About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «422» (large) at the foot of the left column of p. 136, under «Thomas Hastings» (end of hymn 421), with NO reference line and no tune header; stanza 1 begins there (four lines) and continues at the top of the right column (four lines), followed by stanza 2 and «Anon.» in italics, right-aligned. The first word «CHILD» is set in capitals and small capitals; written in ordinary type here. The stanza numbers are printed without a period («1», «2»); written «1.», «2.» here as in the other deliveries of this book. The eight short lines of each stanza are indented as reproduced below (lines 2, 4, 8 indented, lines 5–6 indented further). The print sets a thin space before «?», «:» and «;» («Eternity ?», «high :»); it is closed up here. No meter is printed; the text has the meter of AVA (hymn 421, P. M., 6.4.6.4.4.4.6.4) and opens with the same line, but nothing on the page assigns it a tune. Spelling, punctuation and capitals («to-morrow,—») are the print's.
