⤢ Full screenWe all are yet alive,And see each other's face:Glory and praise to Jesus giveFor his redeeming grace.
What troubles have we seen,What conflicts have we passed,—Fightings without, and fears within,Since we assembled last!
But out of all, the LordHath brought us by his love; And still his help he doth afford,And hides our life above.
Let us take up the crossTill we the crown obtain; And gladly reckon all things loss,So we may Jesus gain.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «479» (large) in the right column of p. 154, below hymn 478 and «Thomas Hastings.», then in italics and brackets «[Tune, St. Thomas, No. 11.]» (sing to the tune ST. THOMAS, hymn 11), then «S. M.» in bold at the right. Four numbered stanzas, «Charles Wesley.» in italics at the end. The first word «WE» is set in capitals and small capitals; written in ordinary type here. The stanza numbers are printed without a point («1» … «4»); written «1.» … here as in the other deliveries of this book. The print sets a thin space before «:», «!» and «;» («face :», «last !», «love ;», «obtain ;»); it is closed up here. Lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented in the print, as in the other S. M. texts set in this book's four-line pattern (lines 1, 2 and 4 of six syllables, line 3 of eight). Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's.
