⤢ Full screenMy hope is built on nothing lessThan Jesus' blood and righteousness;I dare not trust the sweetest frame,But wholly lean on Jesus' name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand,All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness seems to vail his face,I rest on his unchanging grace; In every high and stormy gale,My anchor holds within the vail.
His promise, covenant, and blood,Support me in the whelming flood; When all around my soul gives way,He then is all my hope and stay.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «666» (large) in the right column of p. 216, below «John Newton.» of hymn 665, then in italics and brackets «[Tune, Solid Rock, No. 682.]» (sing to the tune SOLID ROCK, hymn 682), then «L. M. 6l.» in bold at the right («6l.» = six lines). Three numbered stanzas of four lines, numbered «1»–«3» without a full stop (written «1.»–«3.» here), all lines flush; after stanza 1 the label «REFRAIN.» (capitals and small capitals) and three refrain lines, indented, printed once only. «Edward Mote.» in bold italics, right-aligned, at the end. The first word «MY» is set in capitals and small capitals (written «My» here). The print sets a thin space before «;» («righteousness ;», «stand ;», «flood ;»); it is closed up here; apostrophes are written straight. Spelling («vail»), punctuation and capitals are the print's.
