⤢ Full screenFaith adds new charms to earthly bliss,And saves us from its snares; Its aid, in every duty brings,And softens all our cares.
Wide it unvails celestial worlds,Where deathless pleasures reign; And bids us seek our portion there,Nor bids us seek in vain.
It shows the precious promise sealedWith the Redeemer's blood,And helps our feeble hope to restUpon a faithful God.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «676» (large) with the reference line «201, 724, 308.» in italics beside it (sing to the tune of hymn 201, 724 or 308); three stanzas in the lower half of the right column of p. 219, below hymn 675, «Daniel Turner.» in italics at the end. The first word «FAITH» is set in a capital and small capitals. The print sets a thin space before «;» («snares ;», «reign ;»); it is closed up here. Lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented in the print. Spelling («unvails»), punctuation (the comma after «aid» in stanza 1) and capitals are the print's. No meter is printed (the text is C. M., 8.6.8.6, like the three tunes of the reference line).
