As printed: hymn number «948» (large) in the right column of p. 318, under the end of hymn 947 («Charles Wesley.»), with the reference line «89, 732.» in italic figures beside it (sing to the tune of hymn 89 DOVE, S. M., or 732 DAY, S. M.). No meter is printed; the four lines 6.6.8.6 are S. M., like 89 and 732. All five stanzas stand in the right column, followed by «James Montgomery.» in italics (the J an italic swash capital). Stanzas numbered «1»–«5» without periods (written «1.»–«5.» here, as in the other deliveries of this book); lines 2 and 4 of each stanza indented. In stanza 1 «FOR» (the word after «O,») is set in small capitals; written «for» — «O,» itself is a normal capital. Stanza 5 repeats stanza 1 word for word, with «for» in lower case. The print sets a thin space before «!» («Lord !», «reward !»); it is closed up here, and the apostrophe is written straight («trumpet's»). Stanza 3 line 2 ends with a period in the print («On wings of faith and love.»), kept as printed. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's («Saviour»).
