1

There is a happy land,Far, far away,Where saints in glory stand,Bright, bright as day.O! how they sweetly sing,"Worthy is our Saviour King;"Loud let his praises ring,Praise, praise for aye.

2

Come to that happy land,Come, come away; Why will ye doubting stand? Why still delay?O! we shall happy be,From all sin and sorrow free;Lord, we shall live with thee,Blest, blest for aye.

3

Bright in that happy landBeams every eye;Kept by a Father's hand,Love cannot die; Then shall thy kingdom come,Saints shall have a glorious home; And, brighter than the sun,Reign, reign for aye.

About this hymn

As printed As printed: running head «REWARD OF SAINTS.»; hymn number «1000» (large), tune name «WORLD TO COME. P. M.» centred over the music (condensed capitals and small capitals), «UNKNOWN.» at the right (capitals and small capitals); no reference line. Stanza 1 is interlinear, between the staves: under system 1, after «1.», two lines in braces sung to the repeated first half of the tune — «{ There is a hap - py land, Far, far a - way, / Where saints in glo - ry stand, Bright, bright as day. }» — then «O! how they sweetly sing,»; under system 2 «"Wor-thy is our Saviour King;" Loud let his prais-es ring, Praise, praise for aye.» («sweetly» and «Saviour» set solid over two notes each; see `lyrics_syllables.txt`). Stanzas 2–3 are printed as text in the left column under the music, numbered «2», «3» without periods (written «2.», «3.» here, as in the other deliveries of this book); lines 2, 4 and 8 of each stanza are indented, and stanza 1 is laid out the same way here. «Anon.» in italics, right-aligned, after stanza 3. The print sets a thin space before «;», «?» and «!» («away ;», «stand ?», «O !», «King ;"») and inside the quotation marks; it is closed up here, and the curly quotation marks and apostrophes are written straight («"Worthy … King;"», «Father's»). Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's.
