⤢ Full screenThe harvest dawn is near,The year delays not long,And he who sows with many a tearShall reap with many a song.
Sad to his toil he goes,His seed with weeping leaves; But he shall come at twilight's close,And bring his golden sheaves.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «1046» (large) at the foot of the right column of p. 357, under hymn 1045 («James Montgomery.»), with the reference line «558, 732.» in italic figures beside it (sing to the tune of hymn 558 or 732 — BOYLSTON, DAY, both S. M.; the line ends with a full stop). Two stanzas numbered «1»–«2» without a full stop (written «1.»–«2.» here, as in the other deliveries of this book); lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented. The first word «THE» is set in a capital and small capitals; written «The». «George Burgess.» in italics at the right under stanza 2, just above the page number «357». The print sets a thin space before «;» («leaves ;»); it is closed up here, and the curly apostrophe is written straight («twilight's»). Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's.
