There are angels hovering round,There are angels hovering round,There are angels, angels hovering round.

They will carry tidings home,They will carry tidings home,They will carry, carry tidings home.

To the new Jerusalem,To the new Jerusalem,To the new, the new Jerusalem.

Poor sinners are coming home,Poor sinners are coming home,Poor sinners, sinners are coming home.

And Jesus bids them come,And Jesus bids them come,And Jesus, Jesus bids them come.

About this hymn

As printed As printed: hymn number «1188» (large), tune name «ANGELS HOVERING ROUND.» centred (capitals and small capitals), «ARRANGED.» at the right, no meter, no author's signature. Stanza 1 is interlinear, in one line under the single system, «1.» before «There»; it is given below in the three-line shape of the other stanzas. In the interlinear line the second «hovering» is printed «hoverin» with its «g» broken (only two specks at the x-height remain): read «hovering». Stanzas 2–5 are printed as text in two columns below the music, three lines each, the second line indented, numbered «2»–«5» without a period (written «2.»–«5.» here, as in the other deliveries of this book). Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's.
