⤢ Full screenAll hail the pow'r of Jesus' name!Let angels prostrate fall;Bring forth the royal diadem,And crown him Lord of all.Ye chosen seed of Israel's race,Ye ransomed from the fall,Hail Him who saves you by his grace,And crown him, and crown him,And crown him Lord of all;Hail him who saves you by his grace,And crown him Lord of all.
Sinners, whose love can ne'er forgetThe wormwood and the gall,Go, spread your trophies at his feet,And crown him Lord of all.Let ev'ry kindred, ev'ry tribe,On this terrestrial ball,To him all majesty ascribe,And crown him, and crown him,And crown him Lord of all;To him all majesty ascribe,And crown him Lord of all.
O that with yonder sacred throngWe at his feet may fall! We'll join the everlasting song,And crown him Lord of all.Him Lord of lords, and King of kings,Let ev'ry nation call; From heav'n to earth the chorus rings,Yea, crown him, yea, crown him,Yea, crown him Lord of all; From heav'n to earth the chorus rings,Yea, crown him Lord of all.
About this hymn
As printed As printed: no running head on p. 447 (the page opens with the hymn); hymn number «1229» (large, left), title «Crown Him Lord of All.» centred (condensed capitals and small capitals); under it, in four justified lines, the epigraph «"And being found in fashion as a man, … to the glory of God the Father."—Phil. 2 :8–11.» (old-style figures); on the next line «EDWARD PERRONET.» at the left (words) and «J. E. WHITE.» at the right (music), capitals and small capitals. No meter, no tune name other than the title, no reference line. All three stanzas are interlinear, numbered «1.»–«3.», between the staves of all five systems; «Duet.» (bold) stands over system 3 («Ye chosen seed … from the fall,» and the parallel lines of stanzas 2 and 3). Under the music, centred: «Copyrighted 1881 by J. E. White.». Each printed line of words carries two or three verse lines; they are given here one verse line per line. The words divided under the notes are joined here («Je-sus'», «pros-trate», «di-a-dem», «ev-'ry», «ter-res-trial», «maj-es-ty» → «Jesus'», «prostrate», «diadem», «ev'ry», «terrestrial», «majesty»); the divisions are in `lyrics_syllables.txt`. Stanza 1, line 2: the print has «an gels» without the hyphen (joined here as every divided word: «angels»). Stanza 1, last line: the print has «crowa» (an «a» for the «n»); stanza 2, last line: «crow» (the «n» missing) — both kept as printed (printer's slips; see `uncertainties.md`). Stanza 1, line 7 has «Him» with a capital, its repeat in line 10 «him». The print sets a thin space before «;» and «!» («fall ;», «name !»); it is closed up here; curly apostrophes are written straight («pow'r», «ne'er», «We'll», «ev'ry», «heav'n»). Spelling and punctuation are the print's.
