⤢ Full screenCrowded is your heart with cares,Have you no room for Jesus?Captured by earth's gilded snares,Have you no room for Jesus?Lo! he's standing at your door,Knocking, knocking, o'er and o'er;Hear him pleading evermore;Have you no room for Jesus?
Wasting all your precious hours,Have you no work for Jesus?Spending those God-given pow'rs,Have you no work for Jesus?Striving not to conquer sin,Seeking not a soul to win,Bringing not a wand'rer in;Have you no work for Jesus?
Seeking earth's possessions fair,Have you no time for Jesus?None for gracious deeds to spare,Have you no time for Jesus?Worldly pleasures, wealth, and ease,Seeking, grasping toys like these,Striving only self to please;Have you no time for Jesus?
Bearing only worthless leaves,Have you no fruit for Jesus? In your hands no precious sheaves,Have you no fruit for Jesus? Not a grain to store away,Naught your labor to repay,Not a joy for that great dayWhen you shall meet with Jesus.

About this hymn
As printed As printed: the page (p. 492) holds this one hymn. The hymn number «1276» (large, left) and the title «NOTHING FOR JESUS.» centred (condensed capitals with taller initials N and J); under it the epigraph in three lines, «"Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have / treasure in heaven : and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful; / for he had great possessions."—Matt. 19 : 21, 22.» (old-style figures); «MRS. MARY D. JAMES.» at the left (words) and «W. J. KIRKPATRICK.» at the right (music), in capitals and small capitals. No meter, no tune name other than the title and no reference line are printed. The four stanzas are interlinear under all four systems, numbered «1.»–«4.» in system 1; there is no chorus heading — the burden «Have you no … for Jesus?» is printed in every stanza, and stanza 4 ends «When you shall meet with Jesus.» with a full stop. Under the music, centred: «From "Songs of Triumph," by per.». Each stanza is given here in its eight verse lines (two per system; the capitals mark them; no verse line is broken by the change of system). The words divided under the notes are joined here («Crowd - ed», «pre - cious», «pos - ses - sions», «God - giv - en», «stand-ing», «Knock-ing», «ev - er - more», «wan - d'rer», «Je - sus» → «Crowded», «precious», …); the divisions are in `lyrics_syllables.txt`. «pleasures,» (stanza 3) is printed solid under two notes. The print sets a thin space before «;», «!», «?» and «:» («Lo !», «o'er ;», «Je - sus ?», «heaven :», «19 : 21»); it is closed up here; curly quotes and apostrophes are written straight («he's», «pow'rs», «o'er», «wand'rer»). Spelling («labor», «Captured», «God-given»), punctuation and capitals (lower-case «he», «him» for Christ) are the print's.
