Millennial Harp (1843), Part II, p. 15, lower half of the page — two systems, two staves (Treble with the words, Bass), D major, 4/4, a two-beat pickup completed by the two-beat final bar. The three stanzas are printed between the staves as three interlinear verses (1., 2., 3.); the hymnal prints no further stanzas and no metre, author or composer (the metre is S. M., 6.6.8.6, and the words are George Heath's «My soul, be on thy guard»). The next hymn, «Judgment.», begins on p. 16.

1
My soul be on thy guard,
Ten thousand foes arise,
The hosts of sin are pressing hard
To draw thee from the skies.

3

2
Oh watch, and fight and pray,
The battle ne'er give o'er;
Renew it boldly ev'ry day,
And help divine implore.

4

3
Ne'er think the vict'ry won,
Nor lay thine armor down,
Thy arduous work will not be done
Till thou obtain the crown.
