⤢ Full screenMy God, my King, thy various praise
Shall fill the remnant of my days,
Thy love shall tune my thankful tongue
With humble prayer and grateful song.
The wings of every hour shall bear
Some thankful tribute to thine ear;
And every setting sun shall see
New works of duty done for thee.
Let distant climes and nations raise
The long succession of thy praise;
And every kindred make thy song
The joy and triumph of their tongue.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «22», reference line «212, 301, 304.» in italics (sing to the tune of hymn 212, 301 or 304), three numbered stanzas in the lower right column of p. 12, «Isaac Watts.» in italics at the end. The first word «MY» is set in small capitals. The print sets a thin space before «;» («ear ;», «praise ;»); it is closed up here. Line 3 of stanza 1 ends without punctuation in the print («thankful tongue», the last letter at the column edge). Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's; the lines of each stanza are set flush (no indentation). No meter is printed (the text is L. M., 8.8.8.8).
