⤢ Full screenSweet is the memory of thy grace,
My God, my heavenly King;
Let age to age thy righteousness
In psalms of glory sing.
God reigns on high, but ne'er confines
His goodness to the skies;
Through the whole earth his bounty shines,
And every want supplies.
With longing eyes, thy creatures wait
On thee for daily food;
Thy liberal hand provides their meat,
And fills their mouth with good.
How kind are thy compassions, Lord;
How slow thine anger moves!
But soon he sends his pardoning word
To cheer the souls he loves.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «71», reference line «114, 147, 227.» in italics (sing to the tune of hymn 114, 147 or 227); the four stanzas in the left column of p. 27 below hymn 70, «Isaac Watts.» in italics at the end. The first word «SWEET» is set in capitals and small capitals. The print sets a thin space before «;» and «!» («King ;», «skies ;», «food ;», «Lord ;», «moves !»); it is closed up here. «Through the whole earth his bounty shines,» is set with very tight word spaces («Throughthe», «hisbounty», «bountyshines») to fit the column; the words are separate. Several letters are broken in the plate («righteousness», «creatures», «food», «provides», «mouth», «with», «souls»); the words are certain from the letters that remain, the rhyme and the metre. Lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented in the print. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's. No meter is printed (the text is C. M., 8.6.8.6).
