⤢ Full screenO thou, my soul, forget no more
The Friend who all thy sorrows bore;
Let every idol be forgot,
But, O my soul, forget him not.
Eternal truth and mercy shine
In him, and he himself is thine;
And canst thou, then, with sin beset,
Such charms, such matchless charms, forget?
O no! till life itself depart,
His name shall cheer and warm my heart;
And, lisping this, from earth I'll rise,
And join the chorus of the skies.
Then through eternity I'll sing
The matchless love of Christ, my King;
And finding there no end of days,
So shall I find no end of praise.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «103», reference line «108, 104, 47.» in italics (sing to the tune of hymn 108, 104 or 47; the first digit of «108» and «104» is read as 1 although its top looks like a 7 at the pixel level — see uncertainties.md, item 1); all four stanzas in the right column of p. 38 below hymn 102, «Krishna Pal.» in italics at the end. The first line begins «O THOU,» — «O» a full capital, «THOU» in small capitals (the book's convention for the first word). The print sets a thin space before «;», «!» and «?» («bore ;», «thine ;», «no !», «heart ;», «King ;», «forget ?»); it is closed up here. The last word of stanza 2, «forget?», is turned over onto a line of its own for lack of width; it is joined to its verse line here. All four lines of each stanza are flush left in the print. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's. No meter is printed (the text is L. M., 8.8.8.8).
