⤢ Full screenWhat equal honors shall we bring
To thee, O Lord our God, the Lamb,
When all the notes that angels sing
Are far inferior to thy name?
Worthy is he that once was slain,
The Prince of peace that groaned and died,
Worthy to rise, and live, and reign,
At his almighty Father's side.
Blessings forever on the Lamb,
Who bore the curse for wretched men;
Let angels sound his sacred name,
Let every creature say, Amen!
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «105», reference line «136, 101, 58.» in italics (sing to the tune of hymn 136, 101 or 58), at the foot of the left column of p. 39 below hymn 104; «Isaac Watts.» in italics at the end. The first word «WHAT» is set in capitals and small capitals. The print sets a thin space before «?», «;» and «!» («name ?», «men ;», «Amen !»); it is closed up here. «The Prince of peace that groaned and died,» turns over in the print («died,» alone on the next line); it is joined here. Lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented in the print. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's. No meter is printed (the text is L. M., 8.8.8.8).
