⤢ Full screenJesus, thy love shall we forget,And never bring to mindThe grace that paid our hopeless debt,And bade us pardon find?
Shall we thy life of grief forget,Thy fasting and thy prayer,Thy locks with mountain vapors wet,To save us from despair?
Gethsemane can we forget—Thy struggling agonyWhen night lay dark on Olivet,And none to watch with thee?
Our sorrows and our sins were laidOn thee, alone on thee;Thy precious blood our ransom paid—Thine all the glory be!
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «327» (large) in the left column of p. 108, below hymn 326 (CHINA. C. M.), with the reference line «120, 546, 204.» (italic) beside it; «Wm. Mitchell.» in italics after stanza 4. The first word «JESUS» is set in capitals and small capitals. The print sets a thin space before «?» and «;» («find ?», «despair ?», «thee ?», «thee ;»); it is closed up here. Spelling («vapors»), punctuation and capitals are the print's. No meter is printed (the text is C. M., like its three reference tunes).
