1

The Saviour calls;—let every earAttend the heavenly sound;Ye doubting souls, dismiss your fear,Hope smiles reviving round.

2

For every thirsty, longing heart,Here streams of bounty flow,And life, and health, and bliss impart,To banish mortal woe.

3

Ye sinners, come; 't is mercy's voice; The gracious call obey:Mercy invites to heavenly joys,And can you yet delay?

About this hymn

As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «396» (large) with the reference line «354, 308.» in italics beside it (sing to the tune of hymn 354 or 308); the three stanzas stand at the foot of the left column of p. 129, below hymn 395 and «Wm. B. Collyer.», with «Anne Steele.» in italics after stanza 3. The first word «THE» is set in capitals and small capitals; written in ordinary type here. The stanza numbers are printed without a period («1» … «3»); written «1.» … here as in the other deliveries of this book. The print sets a thin space before «;», «:» and «?» («calls ;», «sound ;», «come ;», «voice ;», «obey :», «delay ?»); it is closed up here. «'t is» (stanza 3) is printed with the apostrophe, a «t», a space and «is», and is written so; the printer's curly apostrophes are written straight («'t is», «mercy's»). Lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented in the print. No meter is printed (the text is C. M., 8.6.8.6, like the referenced tunes). Spelling («Saviour»), punctuation and capitals are the print's.
