⤢ Full screenI'm not ashamed to own my Lord,Nor to defend his cause,Maintain the honor of his word,The glory of his cross.
Jesus, my Lord, I know his name; His name is all my trust;Nor will he put my soul to shame,Nor let my hope be lost.
Firm as his throne his promise stands,And he can well secureWhat I've committed to his handsTill the decisive hour.
Then will he own my worthless nameBefore his Father's face,And in the New JerusalemReserve for me a place.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «637» (large) at the head of the right column of p. 208, beside the end of the music of hymn 635, with the italic reference line «395, 446, 598.» (= sing to the tunes of hymns 395, 446 or 598) beside the number; four stanzas, numbered «1» … «4» (no period; written «1.» … here as in the other deliveries of this book); the second and fourth lines of each stanza are indented in the print; «Isaac Watts.» in italics after stanza 4. The first word «I'M» is set as a capital I, apostrophe and a small capital M; written «I'm» here. The print sets a thin space before «;» («name ;», «trust ;»); it is closed up here. The apostrophes («I'm», «I've», «Father's») are written straight. «Till the» (stanza 3) is set with a wide justification space. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's («honor», «his» in lower case for the Lord).
