⤢ Full screenEach setting sun draws near the dayWhen, at Jehovah's word,The heavens like smoke shall pass away,Revealing Christ our Lord.
To speak our doom he will descend,Beheld by every eye;Life or destruction shall attendThose Judgments from on high.
Then weigh thyself with anxious care,And seek a throne of grace;Thy soul his Spirit can prepareTo stand before his face.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «896» (large) in the right column of p. 299, under «Isaac Watts.» of hymn 895, with the reference line «111, 598, 395.» in italic figures beside it (sing to the tunes of hymns 111 CORONATION, 598 ARLINGTON or 395 BALERMA, all C. M.; no meter is printed — the lines 8.6.8.6 are C. M., like the referenced tunes). Stanzas numbered «1»–«3» without periods (written «1.»–«3.» here, as in the other deliveries of this book); lines 2 and 4 indented. The first word «EACH» is set in capitals and small capitals; written «Each». «S. Isadore Miner.» in italics, right-aligned, at the foot of the right column. The print sets a thin space before «;» («eye ;», «grace ;»); it is closed up here. The apostrophe of «Jehovah's» is written straight. Spelling, punctuation and capitals («Judgments», «Spirit») are the print's.
