About this hymn

As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «907» (large) in the right column of p. 304, under stanza 4 and «Anon.» of hymn 906, with the italic reference line «857, 772.» (= sing to the tunes of hymns 857 or 772) beside the number. Three stanzas of six lines, numbered «1»–«3» without a full stop (numbered «1.»–«3.» here as in the other deliveries of this book); lines 2, 4 and 6 indented, line 5 further; «John Cennick.» in italics at the right after stanza 3. The first word «Lo» may be set in a capital and a small capital (the «o» is a little larger than the lowercase «o» of «comes»); it is written «Lo» here. The print sets a thin space before «!», «;» and «:» («Lo !», «comes ;», «dead ;», «Head :», «Hallelujah !», «appear ;», «him ;», «hear :», «joy ;», «sorrows ;», «employ :»); it is closed up here («appear!» at the end of stanza 2 is printed closed). Spelling, punctuation and capitals («Lo! He comes», «Archangel's», «Head», «Judge») are the print's; apostrophes («'Mid») are written straight. The meter is not printed (8s, 7s & 4, like hymn 905). A handwritten ink note of the exemplar («1869 Hymnal 3?4») stands between hymn 906's last line and the number «907»; it is not print and is not transcribed.
