⤢ Full screenThe saints may rest within the tombAwhile until the morning come; Then shall they rise to meet their God,And ever dwell in his abode.
Celestial dawn! Triumphant hour! How glorious that awakening powerWhich bids the sleeping dust arise,And join the anthems of the skies!
This weary life will soon be past,The lingering morn will come at last,And gloomy mists will roll awayBefore that bright, unfading day.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «925» (large) at the head of the right column of p. 311, beside the text stanzas of hymn 924, with the italic reference line «927, 914.» beside it (= sing to the tunes of hymns 927 MALVERN or 914 WOODWORTH, both L. M.); three stanzas of four lines, numbered «1»–«3» without periods (written «1.»–«3.» here, as in the other deliveries of this book); the lines of each stanza are not indented (all four aligned); «Anon.» in italics, right-aligned, at the foot of the column. The first word «THE» is set in capitals and small capitals (written «The» here). No meter is printed (the text is L. M., 8.8.8.8, like the two reference tunes). The print sets a thin space before «;» and «!» («come ;», «dawn !», «hour !», «skies !»); it is closed up here. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's.
