⤢ Full screenLo! round the throne, a glorious band,The saints in countless myriads stand;Of every tongue redeemed to God,Arrayed in garments washed in blood.
Through tribulation great they came; They bore the cross, despised the shame; But now from all their labors restIn God's eternal glory blest.
They see the Saviour face to face; They sing the triumph of his grace; And day and night, with ceaseless praise,To him their loud hosannas raise.
O may we tread the sacred roadThat holy saints and martyrs trod,Wage to the end the glorious strife,And win, like them, a crown of life!
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «974» (large) in the left column of p. 330, below hymn 973's stanzas, with the reference line «19, 54, 336.» in italic figures beside it (sing to the tunes of hymns 19 DUKE STREET, 54 ROTHWELL or 336 BROCKHAM, all L. M.; no meter is printed — the four lines 8.8.8.8 are L. M., like the referenced tunes). Stanzas numbered «1»–«4» without periods (written «1.»–«4.» here, as in the other deliveries of this book); the lines are not indented. «Mary L. Duncan.» in italics, right-aligned, after stanza 4. The print sets a thin space before «;» and «!» («Lo !», «stand ;», «life !»); it is closed up here. The apostrophe of «God's» is written straight. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's («Saviour», «labors»).
