⤢ Full screenO what hath Jesus bought for me!Before my ravished eyesLife's river all divine I see,And trees of paradise.
I see immortal saints in light,Who taste the pleasure there; They all are robed in spotless white,And conquering palms they bear.
O what are all my sufferings here,If, Lord, thou count me meetWith that enraptured host to appear,And worship at thy feet?
Give joy or grief, give ease or pain,Take life or friends away; But let me find them all againIn that eventful day!
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «984» (large) in the right column of p. 332, below hymn 983, with the reference line «114, 354, 179.» in italic figures beside it (sing to the tunes of hymns 114 HOWARD, 354 WOODLAND or 179 ORTONVILLE, all C. M.; no meter is printed — the lines 8.6.8.6 are C. M.). Stanzas numbered «1»–«4» without periods (written «1.»–«4.» here, as in the other deliveries of this book); lines 2 and 4 indented. The first words «O WHAT» are set as a capital O followed by «WHAT» in small capitals; written «O what». «Charles Wesley.» in italics, right-aligned, after stanza 4. The print sets a thin space before «!» and «;» («me !», «there ;», «day !»); it is closed up here. The apostrophe of «Life's» is written straight. Spelling, punctuation and capitals are the print's.
