⤢ Full screenPlanted in Christ, the living Vine,This day, with one accord,Ourselves, with humble faith and joy,We yield to thee, O Lord.
Joined in one body may be, bc,One inward life partake,One be our heart, one heavenly hopeIn every bosom wake.
In prayer, in effort, tears, and toils,One wisdom be our guide;Taught by one Spirit from above,In thee may we abide.
Around this feeble, trusting bandThy sheltering pinions spread,Nor let the storms of trial beatToo fiercely on our head.
Then, when among the saints in light,We all immortal shine,Anthems of everlasting praise,Dear Saviour, shall be thine.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «1077» (large) with the reference line «724, 354, 204.» in italics beside it (sing to the tune of hymn 724, 354 or 204); the five stanzas fill the top of the right column of p. 369, with «S. F. Smith.» in italics after stanza 5. The first word «PLANTED» is set in capitals and small capitals; written in ordinary type here. Stanza 2, line 1 ends «bc,» in the print (a «c» for «e»: a wrong sort, kept as printed — see `uncertainties.md`). The stanza numbers are printed without a period («1» … «5»); written «1.» … here as in the other deliveries of this book. The printer's curly apostrophes are written straight. Lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented in the print. No meter is printed (the text is C. M., 8.6.8.6, like the referenced tunes). Spelling («Saviour»), punctuation and capitals are the print's.
