⤢ Full screenA parting hymn we sing,Around thy table, Lord;Again our grateful tribute bring,Our solemn vows record.
Here have we seen thy face,And felt thy presence here;So may the savor of thy graceIn word and life appear.
The purchase of thy blood,By sin no longer led,The path our dear Redeemer trodMay we rejoicing tread.
In self-forgetting loveBe our communion shown,Until we join the church above,And know as we are known.
About this hymn
As printed Words only. As printed: hymn number «1112» (large) at the foot of the left column of p. 378, under «Anon.» of hymn 1111, with the reference line «89, 236, 266.» in italic figures beside it (sing to the tune of hymn 89, 236 or 266 — DOVE, BADEA, NARES, all S. M.; the line ends with a full stop). Stanza 1 stands at the foot of the left column; stanzas 2–4 continue at the head of the right column, directly under the music, above hymn 1113 (the two-column reading order of the page). Stanzas numbered «1»–«4» without a full stop (written «1.»–«4.» here, as in the other deliveries of this book); lines 2 and 4 of each stanza are indented. The first words «A PARTING» are set in a capital and small capitals; written «A parting». «A. R. Wolfe.» in italics at the right under stanza 4. The print sets a thin space before some «;»; it is closed up here. Spelling («savor»), punctuation and capitals are the print's.
